IF YOU ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE VOLUME 1 OF HIS WORKS, PLEASE BE DIRECTED TO PAGE 462 PART 2 "THE CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY". THIS TYPE OF BOX IS NOT PICTURED BUT IS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL. THIN TARRED LEATHER, TIN LINER, IRON FINIAL. SINGLE BELT LOOP RETAINED BY IRON AND COPPER RIVETS. SHIELD SHAPED COVER. POOR QUALITY STITCHING. CLOSING STRAP IS COMPLETE AND UN-TORN. THE THIN LEATHER COVER HAD AT ONE TIME BEEN FOLDED BACK ON ITSELF AND HAS BEEN CREASED AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS.
